Looking for ideas for our wedding anniversary which is in October . Would hope to stay 2 or3 nights in a place with nice shops/restaurants and interesting places to visit .I love London and York but fancy going somewhere different. Is Canterbury a good choice or do you have any other suggestions

I have relatives in Canterbury, I’d say it’s more of a day out than several days worth of things to do. It’s not a bad place for a base to explore the area though, it’s close to the coast and handy for doing a day trip to France from.

Canterbury is lovely! The city is beautiful, and will provide a great base for exploring the local area, maybe head to the coast or channel hop for a day trip.

It's quite similar to York, though smaller and not as much to see and do.

Canterbury is beautiful. Quite expensive, but no more so than other nice medieval places. If you like tiny pubs, old buildings and picnics then you'll have a lovely few days away Smile
