Just that really...

Family of 5 - 3 dc between the ages of 8-14. Would like to go away on holiday in the UK for a short break, preferably in a hotel, where we all get to stay in the same room.

It should be a simple thing but there is very little out there - wondered if anybody had any good recommendations please? The dc are too big to smuggle extra one in, they all definitely need a bed of their own (or two could share a double bed, but they're too big for 3 to share a double bed, and it's been a long time since even the youngest fitted in a cot).

Really want to avoid having two bedrooms as it doubles the cost of the accommodation.

Any ideas most gratefully appreciated! Flowers

Premier inn do family rooms as do crowne hotels.

There is another one either holiday inn or Marriott I think

Unfortunately most of the premier inn and Marriott rooms seem to be for families of 4 or 4 and a cot...

I think there are a few marriotts that can sleep more but they are just in the v expensive ones!

Is the hotel thing because you don't want to cook? What about an apartment, but you go out for breakfast etc?

Quite a few of the YHA properties have families rooms for 5 or 6. Here's a list of the best ones for families. www.theguardian.com/travel/2016/jan/09/top-10-youth-hostels-with-family-rooms-uk

Ive stayed 4 times at the Faviere Guest House in Stratford upon Avon. 10 mins walk ftom the town centre along an old tram way. Park for the kids. Fab pub round the corner and The Bear Inn further up where you can gave a pint by the ruver. Call them up and the owner removed a desk from the room for us. There was a double bed and 3 proper single beds in the room. Bit tight but we were there to sleep. gorgeous bedding and bathroom!

they are like hens teeth bunbunny. this is why we usually take a self catering place. your best option is to book two adjoining rooms with a door through. not ideal but the options otherwise for hotels are very limited. you are right. the sleeps 5 rooms are at the more expensive places. had you thought about Airbnb?
