Ireland by ferry

DC and I are planning an Irish road trip. We plan to travel overnight on the long journey from Liverpool to Belfast (getting a cabin) then drive to Donegal where I grew up. We have accommodation for 3 days and can stay with family for a bit longer. The plan is to then spend a couple/few days traveling down to Rosslare and getting the ferry to Fishguard.

Can anyone recommmend where to stop off between Donegal and Rosslare? We can camp but happy to find B&B.

We will probably be driving down through the middle of the country thenbiver to Waterford.

I haven't been personally but have heard good things about Nore Valley camping/lodges in Kilkenny, might be too near the Waterford end of your drive if you're only planning one stop though.

Just remembered Lough Key Forest Park, in a nice spot and well placed to break up the drive

I have loads of suggestions if you were taking the M3 to Dublin and the New the M11. How old are your dc?

DC is 7. We may do the drive back over 3-4 days.
