Long Weekend Ideas

Looking to take my mum, who has dementia, away for a weekend. We have previously stayed in Bath but found it was very hilly.
She can't walk far and I have toyed with the idea of a wheelchair but I'm disabled myself and won't be able to push her too far and would obviously prefer flat terrain.
*South of England
*Hotel near sights.
*Possibly seaside resort.
*Flat terrain.

Any ideas/recommendations?

How about Weymouth! Plenty of hotels on the seafront and flat promenade. There's usually lots to see on the beach: punch & Judy, donkey rides, sand sculptures (or was when I was there a few years back). Might bring back happy childhood memories or beach trips when she was younger

I'd recommend Brighton for a great holiday with mobility impairments. I took my wheelchair-bound grandad for a week a few years ago.
We spent our first day in Brighton itself. It must have been a Sunday because bands play in the bandstand every Sunday afternoon June-August and we watched them whilst having an ice cream! In the morning we went to the Pavilion and went up the i360 tower which has a lift and all the staff were so helpful.
We got fish and chips from the Pier. It was easy to get to from the car park and there was a ramp and handrail at the entrance. After that we went to the Mechanical Memories museum. Mechanical Memories is a ‘working museum’ of vintage coin-operated amusement machines representative of seaside amusement arcades of half a century ago. The museum features favourites, working models, puppet machines, skill games, fortune tellers, and the most popular arcade machines of all time – the allwins. The machines in the museum all work as they were intended, on big old pre-decimal pennies. Old pennies to play the machines can be bought at the museum for a moderate price.
We had another day Brighton later in the week when it rained and went to the aquarium and rode on the electric railway (rides take 30mins). We also managed a trip to Snooper's Paradise which is a famous flea market.
We had a lovely lunch at Devil's Dyke which took us about 20mins from Brighton. You can drive right up and there are a few Blue Badge spaces. The food was amazing and the view was even better!
The South Downs heritage centre was a little further afield but well worth going to. It's a growing collection of artisan food producers and art/craft stalls. There's a good cafe, gardening museum, large food hall and one nice spots to soak up the sun.
We also had a day out to Lewes where we took a ride on the Bluebell Steam Railway and went to the Anne of Cleves house museum. The latter has a gorgeous Tudor rose garden.

Thank you, both. I'm quite fond of Weymouth and think Mum might prefer that to Brighton. We could always visit both!

Be aware that brighton is hilly, not right near the front but it is not totally flat.
