Now I am not expecting to be flooded with replies here but one or two would be great! I need somewhere to stay in St. Helens for a couple of nights and i wounded if anyone could suggest somewhere (preferably not a travelodge etc) looking more for an independent. I have to be where I am going each morning at 9am. I did think maybe Liverpool or would that be a bit far?

Are you in the car?

NC4Now · 11/05/2018 19:25

I used to live in Liverpool and worked in St Helens. It was a 30 minute drive from memory. And Liverpool is a great place to stay. St Helens has much less to offer.

Will you be driving or public transport?

www.griffininn.co.uk That’s in St Helens and meant to be nice? Never stayed there myself but heard good things

Holiday Inn Haydock is supposed to be really good though I haven't stayed there myself: www.hihaydockm6j23hotel.co.uk/

Yes will be driving. Have to be there for 930 so wanted to be fairly close but half an hour would be great. NC4Now which side of Liverpool is St Helens on as you used to commute there?

I live in Liverpool and commute to a town near St. Helens. Are you staying for a few days or are you just there for one event in St. Helens?

millimat · 12/05/2018 22:34

Where are you needing to get to? St Helens town centre?

NC4Now · 13/05/2018 19:00

St Helens is to the east of Liverpool. I used to get on the M62, south of the city centre.

I have stayed at this hotel for work. It is pretty much in the middle of St Helens.

I have also stayed here. Which is a bit further out (?15min drive) but had a nicer atmosphere and a decent swimming pool/gym.

I forgot about this one! This would be my favourite actually. SmilePark Royal Hotel Warrington
It is about 9 miles away from St Helens but good road network.

millimat · 13/05/2018 21:32

The problem with the park royal is that it takes ages to get through to St Helens centre in rush hour.
