Liverpool city break ideas

I'm off to Liverpool soon for the first time in many years and would love to know your must-sees, must-dos etc. (Yes I can and will do my own research, but I value independent advice.)

I'll be blissfully alone so don't need to do anything that will keep the kids entertained. Haven't booked a hotel yet but I assume I'll be staying in the city centre. Staying for 3 to 5 days or so.

I'm interested in all sorts of things; not particularly sporty but just about everything can hold my interest for an afternoon. History, buildings, architecture: all great. But I'm sure there are lots of things I might not have thought of.

And I'll reserve a day for shopping as I don't get to the UK much. But I'd love to hear about anything else you like too: your fave park, good people-watching cafe, anything!

Please share!

These are so brilliant, sincere thanks.
I’m starting to get really excited now. (Just the thought of getting up when I feel like it is rather thrilling!)

Will def report back if I experience a time slip Wink

Enjoy yourself OP, it's a wonderful city (Whilst walking around the docks, I was once invited in for a brew by the man from the Maritime museum as he said I looked coldSmile)
