Luxury stay in Cornwall / North Devon

Hello can anyone recommend a hotel/ cottage to stay in for about 5 days at the end of April?
It's my husbands birthday and I want to do something special.
We adore North Devon and Cornwall.

The problem is I can't find any hotels yet that I particularly like. We normally do an air bnb which is pretty handy as we have a baby. It would be nice to stay in a hotel for once though with proper facilities. I know it's shallow but the way that something is styled is very important to both of us.

We like a relaxed vibe but really well done so good interior design, good beds and linen, proper professional service and really good food and wine.

I have briefly looked at Bedruthan Hotel but I'm not sure if it will be a bit Naff if it is directed at families.

I really really really love family time so I am not getting at that , I just wonder if it will smell like kids farts and shoes there!

Ideas all.

Perfect type of place for us would be like the soho farm house.

Shoot!!!

Have a look at this apartment in Ilfracombe. We’ve stayed here and it’s really luxurious, with amazing views.

There’s a Michelin started restaurant 1 minute walk away and loads of other lovely restaurants within walking distance.

St Moritz just between Rock and Polzeath is lovely and has a nice spa. Bedruthan js nice, I've been there. Doesn't smell of farts but you do have to be prepared to hang out with lots of other families with young kids, you may or may not find that relaxing. I don't think the indoor pool is that nice there either but views are lovely and nice walks if weather good enough. Spa is nice enough and treatment are good.

Another fan of Watergate Bay. I loved it there.

@dissapointedafternoon same! I like to imagine it's like first class on an airplane where you have the screen between the seats!

St Michael's Hotel in Falmouth. We've just come back from a stay there and it was lovely. We stayed in their new wing and the rooms where lovely. The pool is also very nice, lovely bar and lovely breakfast as well

@spugzbunny except the pilot is on the kill path in my car. He gets mega road rage behind caravans. It ain't peaceful!

Have rented through Latitude 50 - they have some excellent homes and specialise in that area.

EngagedWithALeaf · 13/02/2018 20:01

Was coming on to say St Moritz also - spa is Cowshed, they will drive you to the beach if you like, food amazing....

Another recommendation for watergate bay. It's beautiful and so relaxed and friendly too. We've been twice now.

This isn’t high end luxury but it is amazingly different and we get visitors in my tearoomehk stay there and say how unusual and brilliant it is

@000bourneFarm

Looks fantastic as well! Thank you so much ❤️
We are currently in Cornwall at the moment, we decided on Saturday afternoon to just go and drove through the night to get down! We camped in the van one night .. worst idea of the century.
We then decided we urgently needed an Air bnb and ended up in the lovliest cottage in Bude

But we still need to book a luxe trip!

We were only meant to be here until Monday and just keep extending 🙄

What about the cottages by the Headland hotel in Newquay? www.headlandhotel.co.uk/sleep/cottages

Or I stayed in a lovely Blue chip top floor apartment last year on Headland road. I was eyeing up Rocket, but it had already gone on the dates I wanted to book.www.alltherooms.com/newquay--cornwall/rocket-556fae2a . Right by the beach, so great for surfing!

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 21/02/2018 19:17

Staunton Sands Hotel. Right on a fab surfing beach and just around the corner from Croyde. The hotel is beautiful, lovely rooms, pools, restaurant. Get a sea view...I sit and n the window gazing at the beach. Great for kids but not just focussed on kids. We have been going their for years and it was great when the DC were tiny then teenage now late teens. Also great when we went without the kids.
It is one of my favourite places!
