Hello everybody, looking for some advice.

It doesn't look like we're going to be able to go abroad this year, so we are looking at going to Cornwall for a week or so in June time, which I actually don't mind because I've wanted to go back to Cornwall for ages!

Can anybody recommend areas/holiday camps to suit a family of three with DS 4. We'd like to stay in a caravan or Chalet type home, close to the sea. Will have a car though so open to suggestions. I've only ever been to Cornwall once myself a number of years ago and DP never at all, so don't really know where to begin! Suggestions very much welcomed Smile

in our experience of Cornwall, caravans can be the same or more than cottages because of all the extra facilities that the child friendly sites provide like a club house or kids club. our favourite place is Wringworthy cottages near to Looe because it has a swimming pool and animal feeding twice daily. they have a website www.wringworthy.co.uk The best camp site is the one overlooking the bay at Polzeath. it doesn't have any facilities but a fab location - so long as the weather is good!

Have a look at pentewan sands holiday park.
It's directly on the beach in the small village of Pentewan.
There's a pool,park and restaurant,bar etc
It's close enough to St Austell if you want a cinema, bowling And big supermarkets.
I don't know if it has entertainment as such but if you look at their website you'll get more information.
I live in Cornwall and though I've never stayed at Pentewan it's the most scenic holiday park that I've seen here.
It does statics for hire as well as touring.

I’vf heard good things about pentewan. We prefer north coast and have liked the following parks:

Hendra near Newquay. A few miles in but not difficult to get to fabulous beaches like Holywell and Crantock. Has reasonable entertainment and a brilliant pool (small extra charge). Nice soft play, not huge but new last year. A land train round the site at certain times. Newquay itself isn’t great but plenty to do close by.

St Ives Bay holiday park. Big park right on a stunning beach. Dunes are a bit steep though. Pool and play areas. Good kids entertainment. You can get a train round the bay to St Ives.

A smaller park is Sandy Mouth near Bude. It’s recently had a big upgrade. Reasonable pool and great kids play area. Close to lovely national trust beach. Lovely beaches around Bude.

We go to st Ives bay holiday village most years. Very well priced for nice sized chalets with lots of play areas and a stunning beach. Nice indoor pool and random assortment of teenage games machines plus the usual cheesy evening entertainment
