Caithness in Easter - ideas?

We’ve got a family wedding near Thurso this Easter so we were thinking of hiring self catering for a week to explore the area. What would you recommend we do? Children are 7 & 4.

Bus tour around Orkney islands. You get the ferry from John O'Groats, buy the tour tickets at the ferry office. It's an early start and a long day, but well worth it.
The Castle of Mey is worth a visit too.
