We've been and it wasn't for us. Too big and noisy. We also had a caravan quite close the disco so could hear the music and got woken up everynight by others on their drunken way home.

We went a few years ago and overall weren't too impressed. The best Haven I've been to is Seashore near Great Yarmouth. Worst was Blue Dolphin near Filey (Ithink that's where it is)

If you want to stay in Devon the Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks (4 sites close to each other) are a good idea. We've been to Twitchen Parc a few times and really enjoyed it although it is a quieter park and not as 'razzle dazzle' as Haven. Also Woolacombe is lovely and the beach is fantastic. I suppose it depends how old your DCs are and what activities you're after.

see what you think - it has a live beachcam!

There is also a website where you can hire caravans at Devon Cliffs from their private owners. Much cheaper, then you buy some sort of pass so you can use the Haven facilities.

I used to go there in the 70s as a child and loved it but looking at the brochure it looks quite different.

With the website I mentioned you can look at the map to see exactly where the caravan you are booking is on the site so you can be a long way from disco or near it whichever you prefer!

I did a search on google for devon cliffs exmouth.

I went recently (freebie hol) and was fine if your off site daily for activities, there is a nice pool and mini golf course, lovely beaches. I didnt go to any shows so cant comment. I dont know how much you would pay so cant give full opinion.

There was a thread recently and bursting bug is going soon, so maybe ask her when she comes back?

Off all the haven sites it is supposed to be the best (flagship site or something).

We're going here in 3 weeks. Is there anything I need to know or should pack before we go? I'll be taking DS1 2yrs 2mths and DS2 8mths. In-laws are also coming too, 3 caravans between us.

We've been there twice.

The children do like Haven and that site has a fantastic beach and the facililties are good...for children.

Personally, Haven gives me a kingsized migraine - all that Rory the Tiger jollification. You can only stand so much of it.

As always though it's a balance hinging on 'if the children are happy, life is a little easier for us', so I go along with it up to a point.
