Hay-on-Wye

We are visiting Hay-on-Wye over New Year and looking for some good family friendly pubs for good food, good atmosphere with a decent amount of space for 8 adults and 8 kids. (Not for New Year's Eve itself) Any recommendations would be very gratefully received please.

Bit late reading this but I’m very envious. I love Hay.

Tomatitos (tapas bar) is great and has a great atmosphere. but may be crowded. Blue Boar is ok. The Globe is quite quirky and may have the space you want. Not sure what the food is like in there now but if the Off Grid Gourmet is still there his food is wonderful. Black Lion also very good.
