Can anyone give me any advice please? Am going to London - Playhouse Theatre - next month. Me, 12 year old, 17 year old and maybe their Dad. Where would be the best place to stay? If I'm on my own with the dc, I would want hotel near the theatre. Thank you!

I think it all depends on your budgets as you have dozens of hotels to choose from near the theatre. The Corinthia hotel is right next door but pricey.

when we go to London we pick the cheapest possible place. because hotels are either cheap and adequate or ridiculously expensive for something decent. I prefer to spend my pounds on going out, eating and stuff so we always just look on booking.com for the cheapest nearby Travelodge type place.

Thank you for your replies. Bit pricey for me and we'd look like .. well, I don't want to say really! Isn't there a Premier Inn?

There are a few just south of the river nr Waterloo, Bankside. Southbank. Just hop on the tube for a couple of minutes and you'll be there.

YHA provide excellent budget accommodation for families in London. We've stayed at London Central the last few times. Food is very reasonable too.
