Help me! Anniversary weekend

I'm trying to find somewhere to go for our 4th wedding anniversary and I'm having a bit of a 'mare. I work in a high end, 4* gold bed and breakfast which, although gorgeous, has made me extremely picky when it comes to finding somewhere for me
I'm usually pretty good at digging up gems if spend long enough but this is the first year we've had to do a Friday, Saturday rather than Sunday Monday so naturally it's more expensive. We live in the north east and ideally don't want to drive more than 2 hours.
We love Malmaison hotels so anything like that would be fab. Please help me!!

Edinburgh? Several funky type hotels including a Malmaison I think. We've stayed at the Balmoral which is more traditional, but fabulous. The restaurant there (Number One) is fantastic.
