Challborough bay holiday park, devon

Has anyone stayed at challborough bay holiday park in Devon? I am thinking of staying there as I'd like to holiday in the salcombe area but the hotels in salcombe are expensive.

The thing that is making me wary of challborough bay is that reviews say it is down a very narrow track - has anyone experience of it?

Yes it is a narrow road down to it but it's only the site that use it so not a lot of traffic and therefore not usually an issue. My parents had a caravan there and it's lovely. But if you're planning on going off site every day you may find the road an issue. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere and a fair way to Salcombe still.

Can you remember how long it takes to takes to get to salcombe from there I thought it was about 11 miles away. I would want to go off site every day. I have an 11 year old and 17 year old so need to keep them occupied and the site doesn't look like it has enough to occupy them.

Challaborough is pretty isolated. It would take a good while to get to salcombe. It is all narrow roads and lanes really. Also that route is through a tidal road that you can't always cross. Pennymoor caravan is on more of a main road and would be quicker. Coming from challaborough you would have to detour several miles to avoid the tidal road going past where pennymoor is.
