U.K. Holidays

Usually we have a cottage and self cater. Kids now 15,15 and 8 no the older ones are beginning to get a bit bored of trips to the beach or walking round quaint villages eating cream teas!

We have 2 amazing holidays in USA last year and this year which we all love , sadly budget totally blown for next year.

I really like to go away as it's the on,y 2 weeks we truely have together as Dh works silly hours and at home big kids would rather hang out with friends . So a staycation is not really an ideal option.

We have done centre parks before but 2 weeks in the summer is silly prices , I'm not into camping as it just seems to much hassle and the weather is generally rubbish .

Any gems ?

Canary Islands? Closer and cheaper than U.K., abroad, stuff to do ... also Ibiza, same.

What do you think they might like doing?

Are beaches and sight-seeing a no-no, or something you might want to do for a couple of days but want lots of other stuff too?

A tour of cities in the uk? Fly up to edinburgh and do three nights. Train down to Newcastle for three. Train down to York for two. Liverpool. Bristol. Cardiff. Home.

Or similar. Air BnB, mooch round the cities, evenings out eating.

I know you have posted in UK but we did a week in Stockholm summer school holidays 2015 for less than a week at Centre Parcs. Got cheap flights with Norwegian and stayed at Hotel J which was lovely (booked through Expedia). Lots to see and do, including amusement park in the city & Abba museum ! Alcohol expensive but everything else not too bad.

They are a weird mix my kids they love cities or being in the middle of nowhere. Seasides are good if they have the arcades etc and are more for rock pooling and digging . They do not sit and sunbath except dd might if it was hot and abroad!
They also like things they haven't done before so we have to keep changing things !
