Non-family hotel for romantic/relaxing weekend outside of london

Does anyone know of any good hotels that are in Kent/Sussex/Essex kind of area. Maybe with restaurant, but not necessarily as long as there is one near-ish. Maybe with a spa nearby or attached - but that's really not essential.
I want individually decorated rooms, nice big beds, maybe with DVD or CD player, a kind of grown up thing.
We don't want to do much apart from get out of London on our own, read the papers, eat, sleep and have sex - maybe go for a stroll.

Any ideas?

Would you consider the North Norfolk coast?

If so then I would suggest Byfords .

Whitstable? We stayed in the Hotel Continental there last year.

The Spread Eagle in Midhurst Sussex. Lovely.

If you could go slightly across to Hampshire, I can REALLY recommend Lainston House, Winchester, no spa though.
