Moonfleet Manor - Is it really OK???

I've just booked a one night stay at Moonfleet for DHs birthday (this Saturday night) and made the awful mistake of not checking on MN first.....the reviews are a bit worrying....holes in the roof, more shabby than shabby chic - Have I just made a mistake?!!

Hi Alp

I didn't go as a result of MN reviews. A friend of a friend has just got back and raves about it so am sure it will fine !

Let us know cos I may well drop some rather unsubtle hints for my birthday.

I think it might have been your thread that made me panic - glad to hear some good reviews! Thanks - panic beginning to ease off now!

OK - so we went to Moonfleet Manor and I have to say it really was OK! we had a great time! We didn't use the pool as we were doing so much out in the sunshine but overall had a really lovely time. I didn't see any peeling paint or areas that looked a bit tired - some of the layouts are a bit odd - where the kids have their tea is in another part of the hotel to the creche and the door the creche is right next to the pool so you have to dodge swimmers coming out of the pool (going to the chaning rooms) when collecting/dropping of LOs but other than that it was a really great!

We have just come back from two days there and I did think whilst the main public areas were nice, the pool in particular could do with some up-dating. We also had an issue with the fact that our room was so light that our son (15 months) woke up waaay too early!. Worth a trip though, lovely location and great food and a well equipped creche
