At a wedding in Dorset in August so thought we'd a holiday of it. I'm ashamed to say I've never been to the south coast Blush Cornwall looks lovely but I'm sure Dorset is fab too. Or is there another south coast place that is a must visit!
Thanks

Cornwall and Dorset are both beautiful (helpful)

In fact when I visit either I wonder why people go abroad at all.

we love south east cornwall around looe. realistically though if you are looking for august I would get on and book pretty quickly as cornwall is one of those places that book out in January. loads to do and see as well as not being too touristy.

when we stay in cornwall we stay here not sure what they have available in the summer so would suggest you have a look on the website. also have a look at the tourist board sites like visitcornwall and visitdevon. there must be a visitdorset as well.

If you're in Dorset you should see the Jurassic Coast - some beautiful beaches. If you've watched Broadchurch many of the coastal scenes were shot around there. Have a look at Hive Beach and Charmouth Beach (contender for a best beach award). There is a VisitDorset website. As a bonus the area has a pretty good weather record.

Cornwall all the way. My mum lives in newlyn/Penzance and we visit 2/3 times a year.
So many beautiful beaches and the countryside is breathtaking.
