Hi we're thinking of a weekend break in Edinburgh can anyone recommend a good central hotel please ?

Depends on your budget, really. The Balmoral is beautiful and right on Princes St but it's pricey. At the other end of the spectrum, there's a brand new Premier Inn about to open on York Place which is very central (right opposite the tram stop for the airport too.)

Edinburgh is wee so you can walk or get a bus/tram very easily. Just avoid the Grassmarket/Cowgate areas as that's where all the drunken stags and hens are.

21212 has lovely rooms. Depends what you are looking for really.
