Hello all,

For the last time in a long time, we will be able to take advantage of term time travel, so I really want to book a getaway for us as a family (children are 1 x 4 year old; 1 x 2 year old). Somewhere a bit like a Centerparcs I suppose - hoping the weather will be reasonable. As they are so young, something connected to some sort of swimming complex/activity centre/ forest play ground would be ideal. I've looked at Calcot Manor and Centerparcs but the former was eyewateringly expensive and the latter booked up (with only eyewateringly expensive options available). We are in Kent but prepared to travel a couple of hours for a 2/3 day stay, and we can do it mid-week so I'm hoping that will help the price, but we're prepared to go up to about £1000. Likely to be our only real holiday this summer...Something with at bit of a babysitting option would be good too.

Please shower me with advice!

Thank you MN.

And actually, as we're in Kent, somewhere in France could probably be an option too....

What about Dunkirk? Get the ferry from Dover. There are lots of campsites that have cabins you can stay in as well. The beaches and sand dunes are gorgeous, and you can go into town if the weather is foul.

Or look at forest holidays. But they get pricy in the hols as well.

Sandy Balls www.sandyballs.co.uk

Beautiful setting in the New Forest, has a pool, soft play area, kids' activities, restaurant and bar, and it's near Peppa Pig World which DC are the perfect age for.

Or Kelling Heath in Norfolk, bit more of a drive for you though - www.kellingheath.co.uk
