We would love to go to north wales in July/August. Anyone know or recommend a gem of a holiday cottage?

I don't know if you'd count this as North Wales or if you'd count this as a cottage, but I've stayed at these log cabins a few times and they are fab: www.logcabinswales.co.uk/accommodation/ There's lots to do in the surrounding area too.

Thanks. Looks lovely. Wondered if bricks and mortar are needed for a uk holiday?

We used to go there in October half term and they were lovely and warm. Some people live in them almost year round.

I was looking at the Lleyn peninsula last year using www.sykescottages.co.uk and www.northwalesholidaycottages.co.uk but decided on another destination in the end!

If your budget is quite small, this place is great if you have young children. The farmer takes them round with him feeding the chickens etc

It's not fancy and is a short drive to the resort of Newquay

Try menai holidays. We stayed in a cottage called Bodhyfrd in a little village called Capelulo last year and it was absolutely beautiful. You could walk over the hills into Conwy and get to Llandudno or Anglesey very easily.

I can highly recommend this place on Anglesey:

Can recommend this beauty

We love Tywyn, just on the border of North Wales and mid Wales really, and have stayed at several houses right on the beachfront. Ideal for kids, but beautiful for adults too. Have a look at the holiday rentals section of the lounge lettings website for a good selection.

Thank you!
Not booked anywhere yet but loving looking and planning.

We stayed here in Harlech a few years ago, though back in the the days when we could do term time hols so wasn't so expensive! Its right on the clifftop overlooking the wide sandy beach, really stunning location.

If you have a decent budget the self-catering cottages at Portmeirion are fantastic.
