Hi Everyone

Can anyone make any suggestions for a week in mid July please, ideally within 4-5 hours drive from Central Scotland, with things to do for a 6 and 3 year old?

We have looked at Center Parks, Ribby Hall and Fife Coast, but was wondering if anyone had any hidden gems?

Thanks in advance.

We love Southwold in Suffolk but it is probably a long drive for you. It is ideal for families as it has a huge sandy beach, a quirky pier with nice cafes. There is a small high street with lovely individual shops and plenty of places to explore nearby. It reminds of how family holidays used to be - lovely family fun times without all the excesses of modern life (there are no loud amusement arcades or fast food places).
It's bliss!!!! We started going 10 years ago and have returned at all different times of the year. Our daughter is 7 years old. It is good for dogs too.
Hope you find somewhere nice.

Not exactly hidden but we love the Lake District. Loads of things for children to do - boat trips, walks, little shops.
We stay at Fallbarrow Park a caravan and lodge site within walking distance of Bowness.
Mind you I find Center Parcs hard to beat for a young family.

Thank you both, Southwold sounds absolutely lovely, but is probably 8 or 9 hours away which is a bit far.

Thanks for the recommendation Rookie, will look into, as we have relatives nearby we could visit too

Lake District is really good for getting too from Scotland as only a 2.5-3 hr drive dependant on where you stay and so scenic.

Auchrannie on Arran is meant to be good though it may be booked out already for those weeks.
