Dorset holiday cottages and best coastal places to stay please?

We want to go to Dorset on holiday this summer (August) with our 8 year old daughter. We have never been before.

1. Can anyone recommend which coastal towns are nice to stay in please? We like Southwold and Norfolk.
2. Can anyone suggest any cottage companies or houses to rent? Many thanks.
