I've read really good reviews of it, but have never been, sorry.

SilverBells · 14/12/2006 18:36

Yes it was good, didn't use the childcare though

SilverBells · 14/12/2006 18:51

oo, seb1, why not?

no reason really, we only had dd1 at the time and we were staying in the lodges

tamum · 14/12/2006 18:55

I've been but a good few years ago. The childcare was good but needed to be booked well in advance. The pool is nice and the food was crap. Succinct review

SilverBells · 14/12/2006 18:57

thanks tamum!

You're welcome- the food may well have improved by now- have a nice time if you go! Oh, just thoguht of another thing- the child listening isn't up to much if you were planning to use it- you had to phone the room yourself (without it ringing, obviously) and listen for noises.

tassis · 14/12/2006 21:56

Food's apparently improved (though we usually do self cateing)

They have an all singin all dancing fancy pants new and improved kids' club opening any day. it looks great. we've used the children's club a lot for our ds (now 3.5) and have been impressed. The helpers are all lovely and they do great activities.

You can book pony rides which are very cute and the pool's great (baby pool v warm). Lovely treatments available in the salon too and the hairdresser's decent. And there's a tiny cinema. It's very very family friendly.

If you're looking at s/c accom I'd say avoid the chalets as they're really pretty basic and small. The cottages and lodges are lovely.

A bit irrelevant, but this does bring back memories as my ex-auntie and uncle in law (I suppose thats what they are/were) live just down the road. My ex BIL used to go running up the hill for hours at a time.

SilverBells · 14/12/2006 22:58

thanks for all your comments, i think we will book a lodge if we can. it seems really reasonable, esp with the childcare, which to be honest, is a very big draw..!

The lodges are fabulous but just so you know, they're all up the hill from the hotel. Only a 2-5 min walk (depending on littlies) but it is a steep hill. Some are further up the hill than others so you might want to ask about this on booking. Pushing a strapping great toddler in a pushchair up the hill is not fun. (not sure age of your littlies so that may not be relevant).

Enjoy!

SilverBells · 15/12/2006 23:13

thanks tassis, my LOs are 3 and 4 so thats not a prob! have booked a lodge this am and am so excited, it's bigger than our house, it has 3 en-suites and a tv in each room!! we are considering moving there permanently..!
hope it lives up to my expectations!

Hi

We stayed at the Crieff Hydro in July and thought it was great. Food must've improved because it was lovely and reasonably priced. They have withdrawn the baby listening services, and we didn't enquire about babysitting.

Great facilities, lovely staff and gorgeous surroundings. We'd go again without thinking twice.

Am I being thick? I can't find a way to look at cottage/lodge availability on their website...

seb1 · 27/12/2006 23:15

Go into self catering section and try there
