Grammar school places

Is this a better option than my local academy?

I guess it depends how good your local academy is, and how convenient re travel etc the grammar is.

Our DS went to a grammar, and personally I think it gives a kind of 'tradition' that is always of benefit to students. But I don't really know enough about academys to discount them.
