We're hoping to take our preschooler on a fab London holiday just before she starts school this Sept. We also have a baby who will be around 8 months. Has anyone got any tried and tested hotels/apartments that are family friendly - good location/facilities/friendly staff/good family rooms? We don't mind splashing out (a little bit) and we're probably looking at about two/three nights.

Also we've been told science museum is good for children and if anyone has any other ideas for trips out, they'd be much appreciated!

Had a good look tonight at hotels and we want to stay in the Richmond area nearish Kew and hopefully a bit quieter (baby in mind) - any ideas anyone?

Sorry I don't know any particular ones but why don't you check out air b n b. lots of options on there. Your little ones may enjoy princess Diana gardens Kensington. Holland park is also pretty with Japanese gardens complete with peacocks and massive koi fish. London acquarium, south bank and even Tate modern can be fun with little ones. Also London zoo. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Premier Inn. We've stayed in several in London & they are so friendly (& clean).

South Kensington was nice & convenient for Science/Natural History museums but the rooms are right next to the tube line.
