Caravan Park recommendations please

I'm trying to book a summer holiday, our budget is caravan park, and I just can't decide where we want to go. So I thought some of you might have some ideas.

There's dp, me, dd1 (15) and dd2 (5). We live in Cumbria and ideally don't want to travel more than 4 or 5 hours to get to wherever we go, so not right down to the South. We went to North Wales last year and enjoyed it, we'd like to try somewhere different this year. Dd1 is neutral about where we go, she's fine as long as there's somewhere for her to hole up with a book. Dd2 wants a beach, a sandy one preferably, but that's not essential. Family friendly days out nearby, swimming pool would be nice.

So what can you come up with? Thanks.

Yorkshire coast? Whitby/Scarborough/Filey etc

Loads of parks down the coast

Haven? Not sure if it fits in with your time estimate, but searles in Norfolk is nice.

Thanks, I remember having some fabulous holidays in Scarborough as a child, so that's a possibility.

I've never been to Norfolk so I'll have a look at what I can find down there too.

Northumberland, we absolutely love it there and the beaches are fantastic.

Haggerston castle near Alnwick, or Primrose Valley near Filey

I was going to suggest a lovely one, but it's in Cumbria! I've heard glowing reviews of haven up Scarborough way.

I love Northumberland too, but my parents are taking the girls up there for a week earlier in the summer, so they won't want to go again with us.

I'm looking at Haven at the minute and they all look pretty good from the website, although that's obviously what the website's designed for.

I live in Scarborough. It's gorgeous.

I agree with Northumberland! It's lovely and the beaches really are wonderful. Check it out for yourself, I'm sure you will agree.

With the East Coast ones....

Primrose Valley is the biggie with rides and loads of entertainment stuff. Reighton is the smallest, but it has a path straight down to beach. Blue Dolphin looks nice I want to try it. They are literally within 2 miles of each other. I think park resorts have some in the same area too - Cayton Bay or Sands or similar? The Haven ones are right on the coast, ie right on the cliffs. The park resorts are 'across the road' iyswim

Have been to reighton sands. Even though it's a smaller one , they can be very busy.

In nice area for visiting Scarborough, Filey, Whitby, flamingo land , York etc
