Devon Family Holiday

I really need some help please!!
Looking for a family holiday in Devon for the Summer Hols
Weve never been down South, so I really dont know the area at all. Not sure weather to go in a cottage, a lodge or caravan.
Funds are limited, I have a grant for £550 & will only be able to put about £300 towards the cost, as I have to find spending money too.
It needs to be right next to the sea-the house or Park, thats the one big thing we all want.
Can anyone recommend anywhere for us please??

Devon is full of caravan parks which would probably be your best bet. Dh is from North Devon which has woolacombe, ilfracombe, westward ho etc, I'm from South Devon which has Torquay/Paignton/Brixton, big bury/challaborogh, dawlish, exmouth etc pretty much everywhere is nice with the usual seaside attractions

I've not used them myself so can't recommend personally but John Fowler holiday parks seem reasonably priced and they have several in both north and south Devon (and indeed Cornwall)

Parkdean holiday park Ruda is nice and is about a 5 min walk to a lovely big sandy beach.

I second Ruda as being lovely. Woolacombe has a lovely beach too. Paignton is great in South Devon, or Torquay.

I've stayed in several John Fowlers in Cornwall, all nice, not stayed in any Devon ones.

We go to a Haven site called Devon Cliffs. Not for everyone but it meets our needs. We do a private hire as it works out cheaper than going through Haven. If interested I can give you the website of the caravan we use.

Thanks all!!
I have finally found a site that looks like it would suit us just fineSmile
It is Hoburn Naish.
Sorry, its not Devon-I found Devon really expensive, out of our price range reallySad
Hoburn Naish is in Hampshire, so not too far awaySmile
Also, it looks like we could quite easily do a day trip to the Isle of Wight from there aswell, which we all wouldnt mind doing<img loading="lazy" class="inline-flex mumsnet-emoji" alt="Grin" src="https://www.mumsnet.com/build/assets/grin-D7Eg_B6y.png"> Its so hard to find family activities/days out that we all want to do when we now have teenagersSadGrinGrin
If anyone has been here, I would love some feedback on the place!!
