Am thinking of a holiday there in the summer. How does it compare to Cornwall? Also what would be the best way to travel there from the Midlands? I think the drive in a car would be too much. How is the public transport like? Or can I do a car hire?

Fly. There are flights from Manchester and Birmingham. We flew from East Midlands one year, but they don't seem to do that route any more.

I travel to Guernsey regularly with work, flying from East Midlands with Auringy. Flight is roughly an hour, although any slight bad weather in Guernsey puts flights at risk due to the exposed airport. Taxis on the island are quite sporadic, always late and quite expensive. Cars can be hired at the airport but parking around St Peter Port (the Capital) is a nightmare.
I love the island, everyone is so friendly and it's very scenic, quite wild with the weather but some lovely beaches. Regular boat trips also to Sark and Herm.
