Isle of Wight or Hampshire hotel - child-friendly, with indoor pool, a bit of luxury

We're looking for a hotel for a short break with the kids (11 and 8). Would like an indoor pool and are hoping for a bit of luxury, as feel we are all in need of a treat. Any suggestions from anyone? (Doesn't have to be super luxury... I'll feel it is luxury if someone else is cooking!)
I have no idea where to start, so would appreciate some recommendations.

Not been, but saw the four seasons, Hampshire recommended here.

tadpolefeet · 22/01/2015 21:20

wow - four seasons looks lovely, but at 900 a night (gulp!) it is somewhat over our budget.... Anyone!?

£900 a night? Sod that.

Try newforesthotels , we stayed at the one near Burley which had family rooms and a small indoor pool. A bit old fashioned but fine.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 22/01/2015 21:28

You could try the Botleigh Grange, I haven't been there for years. I can't think of many luxury type hotels in that area TBH, Hampshire isn't very touristy apart from the New Forest and I don't can't think of any on the IOW either.

My thoughts precisely!

Limewood is amaaazing

Careys Manor, Just outside Brockenhurst, we stayed there a few years ago and it was beautiful

tadpolefeet · 22/01/2015 21:43

Keep them coming... But any for the Isle of wight? Somehow going on the ferry makes it feels like we've gone away 'properly'!

We always camp or self cater on the IOW, so I have no idea about hotels.

Luccombe Hall?

Ohh, jelly, that looks like the sort of thing I was looking for. How come I haven't come across that in my whole evening of searching....?

I spent ages a couple of years ago trying to find a decent family friendly hotel in IOW and concluded there weren't any!

TryingToJuggle · 24/01/2015 07:17

New Park Manor hotel in the Forest is amazing it has a pool and is very child friendly

TwelveLeggedWalk · 24/01/2015 07:33

There's nothing like Limewood on the island, but look at
westbayclub.co.uk/
www.priorybay.co.uk/

Tbh I think self-catering and restaurants are probably better than hotels on IOW www.islandcottageholidays.com/isleofwight/cottages/glasshouse/

If you stay at Elmers Court (good choice) you could take a day trip to
IOW as ferry leaves nearby.
