Need to find a nice place to stay in Blackpool without breaking the bank. I imagine some places are a lot nicer than others! Seem to remember a MNer runs a nice one?

Grateful for any suggestions!

i just found a guest house that sounded very nice - most of the year the rooms are around £32, but during the illuminations they are £122 a night. .

bubblerock has sold and moved

(well probably for her but for the rest of us!)

NastyNemo666 · 06/10/2006 22:18

Aww knew she had sold but thought they were sitting out one last season.

Illumination time is a nightmare..we are going to blackpool on tues for Ds bday [have done every year] and are just lucky we are close enough to drive home again.

Xena · 06/10/2006 22:21

We have stayed at the cliton arms hotel Lytham st annes (I Know not a B&b) but they would be cheaper than you have been quoted.
My brother owns the cafe on the pier opposite and its fab

Xena · 06/10/2006 22:22

clifton arms.. sorry

pineneedle · 06/10/2006 22:23

Oh, that is a shame - (for us). Thank you for that information.
NN666, do you by any chance know the names of any villages nearish to Blackpool that might have little B&Bs? We could drive in for the day too, then. I don't really know where to start looking...

Still here, but only for a few more weeks - not much availablity at all left but you can check on laterooms (berisfield hotel) just incase - 10% off for MNetters so ring if I can help at all!

PretendFriend · 06/10/2006 22:34

Oh bubblerock, I do beg your pardon!!! I googled your hotel weeks ago and nothing came up so assumed you had gone

bubblerock · 06/10/2006 22:37

That's okay, I'm stressing at the moment trying to find another home/business!

pineneedle · 06/10/2006 22:39

oooh, hello BR! Off to check!

OP posts:
PretendFriend · 06/10/2006 22:40

Ohhh, I was looking for Berisford, that would be why I didn't find it

What sort of other business are you looking for then, br?

bubblerock · 06/10/2006 22:47

Everyone calls us the berisford!!! lol

I am looking at little shops at the moment although I would love to open a deli near the front selling lovely fresh fruit, salads, breads, drinks etc... for picnics on the beach - but all the decent premises are taken up with burger bars etc... !!

pineneedle · 06/10/2006 22:48

Hmmm, looks like I've indeed left it too late for Bubblerock's. What a shame! I shall keep hunting round.

pineneedle · 06/10/2006 23:48

Hello Pineneedle, if you are still looking there are a few that i've stayed at in North Shore, but just a 5 minute walk from town and they're all family friendly equipped with high chairs etc...

New Kent ...the owners are lovely.

Hi
I am from that area originally. Try some of the nicer hotels in Lytham St Annes- the Grand, The Dalmeny, st ives.

Lytham St Annes is lovely and only about 10 mins drive from the bright lights (literally) of Blackpool! It is much more sedate and quite pretty.

Bit perplexed by the post about the cafe on the pier opposite the Clifton Arms as there is no pier opposite there!

There is a lovely little gift shop at the front of North Pier in Blackpool btw - nicer things than the usual tat!
