help me find a 2 bed cottage that sleeps 2 adults with 2 young DC in dorset - either on the beach or a short walk from one..... Are Charmouth/Lyme Regis nice to stay in?

Charmouth is tiny but lovely. Lyme is lovely but mainly based on one steep hill. Suggest you try Sweetcombe Holidays who are local to that area

West bay is lovely - on the beach, coastal path, a fish shop, fish and chips

Lyme is lovely. They have a dinosaur museum, fossil hunting beach, pebble beach, sandy beach, lots of lovely shops. The two places I've stayed in have been much bigger than what you need though.

Can highly recommend Jean Bartlett Cottages based in Beer. We hired Ivy Cottage in the summer which was perfect, 5 minutes from the beach and Pecorama. My kids had the best time ever. Beer is just beautiful.
