Anyone have any bright ideas for stopping points with two little ones? we are going to use the whole day to travel - aim is to be on the A4/M4 before rush hour and go in easy stages but would rather not spent hours in motorway services. Need to be there by 5pm or so.

Kids will sleep a bit in the car but DTS is not a great car sleeper so we will need to get them out and about. Also need to plan for good and bad weather!

We were usually going the other way but always stopped in Chepstow.

Lydiard Park is less than 5 mins off the M4 at Junction 16. Has a kids playground, loos and a cafe plus lots of green space to run around.

If you go over the old Severn Bridge, you can walk down to the bridge from the Aust services - nice, blowy walk about the grounds there to get rid of any cobwebs.

I second Chepstow for lunch.
