Towels at Center Parcs

Do we really need to bring our own? We never shower in the villa, as we end up swimming every day.

What would happen if we used the villa towels at the pool?

Anyone? We're about to start packing!

I think you might have them confiscated actually, they do like a rule!

But I am more intrigued as to how you can never shower in the villa. At the two CPs I've been to, pool showers are in the open in mixed changing rooms. How do you have a proper wash without removing your costume?

thelmachicken · 23/08/2014 18:30

I always bring towels for swimming. I didn't know there was a rule about it!

Mildpanic · 23/08/2014 18:37

I agree, how can you shower properly in the communal shower? Do you not shower when you get up in the morning regardless?
Pretty sure they would prevent you from using CP towels in the pool. We have never seen villa towels in being used. What's the big deal about taking your own towels?

SixImpossible · 23/08/2014 23:23

Why would you shower if you're getting up, having breakfast, and heading straight for the pool?

We're perfectly clean and sweet-smelling, washing at the pool. We wash hair there as well. I'm puzzled as to why you're puzzled by it!

I take their towels into the pool but I don't lounge about on the chairs so they are not seen
I wouldn't lounge on a chair anyway
If they are in the changing rooms nobody can see them
There are proper, private showers in the womens and mens changing rooms so you can have a real shower

Well, I'm (a little bit) puzzled at the idea of spending a week without my bits seeing any soap!

Captainbarnacles1101 · 24/08/2014 09:15

Your fine taking ur villa towels. Sure can't u hire towels at the pool any they are exactly the same as the villa ones.

SixImpossible · 24/08/2014 10:28

Dh insists we take towels. That's half a suitcase filled. And we practically move house when we stay a week at CP. I'd just like to reduce the amount of stuff.

You can't take your villa towels - they have - for use in the villa only - printed across them. I spotted someone at the pool entrance having a towel argument with a pool lifeguard last week at Elveden.

The ones you hire at the poolside are a different colour.

GoogleyEyes · 24/08/2014 14:47

We take travel towels that pack into a tiny space - can get two big ones of those plus two kid-sized normal towels and all our other swimming stuff into a normal backpack. And they dry fast, too.

Ooo Karolann did you ride the Tropical Cyclone? I want to, but in such a wuss - I don't do rollercoasters at all.

I rode the Tropical Cyclone twice this morning, and my throat is still sore from screaming. The first ride was scarey enough, but the second was utterly terrifying because I ended up going backwards.

I know I'm a total wuss, but I'm a proud wuss because I actually faced my fear and did it.

Never mind that on the second run I had to be helped out of the splashdown pool because I was shaking so badly that I could not stand unsupported.

Buy some Hammam towels to take, they're lovely and big and absorbent and fold up to nothing.
