parking on pavements

Just wanted to put it out there and ask what peoples thoughts are on this?
I don't drive (still learning) but from a pedestrains point of view I find it annoying when I have to walk in the road.

It's annoying from a pedestrian's point of view, especially if the pedestrian has some kind of disability. It is also annoying when a car is blocking the street and no other vehicles can get past.

I live near a town that has a lot of terrace housing and nowhere to park for quite some distance. Someone died recently because an ambulance couldn't get past the cars parked on the road to get to him in time.

I am on the fence with this one as I can see it from both points of view. I wouldn't buy a house that didn't have off street parking for this reason.
