Mini break with my four year old

I might be able to take more holiday than DH this summer and I thought I could take dd away for a night or two. A family holiday for us would usually be some sort of city break or visit with friends. The idea would be to try something that would take us outside that comfort zone. Not actual camping, but visit a farm or see a beach or do an activity. Any ideas for Southern Scotland or Northern England?

In Cumbria you can go to Brockhole (Beatrix Potter world) and Trotters Farm for day trips. There is also a Centre Parcs in Cumbria. There is also a great safari park in Kendall.

Can we get back to nature at Centre Parcs, do you think? It would be a pretty convenient way to do it!
