a weekend just before christmas

Hi Folks

I am looking for a family break just before christmas in the uk that would have maybe christmas activities. I am thinking logcabins open fires in the forest or would i have to go to lapland for this!!! I am stuck

Center Parcs at Elveden?? It is near Thetford Forest who have Father Christmas in a traditional log cabin.................................

Aviemore itself isnt all that fantastic, but by the look and sound of things (ive spoken to one couple who have been over xmas day itself) there is so much to do you dont even have to leave the hotel! and there is ski-ing v. close by
