I'm travelling from Carlisle to Cheltenham with my 17 month boy bob - the rail company have told me I can leave bob in the buggy and use the wheel chair space - how big is the step from platform to train ? Will I manage the buggy onto the train alone - thanks Ali

I've always managed to get my buggy on the train on my own, if you think you will struggle ask for help! as for the wheelchair space be aware that priority is for a wheelchair! might be easier to take your ds out of the buggy fold it up let him look out of the window unless he's sleeping!

You'll manage fine, it's not a big gap. Someone might help you but I've done it on my own plenty.

if a wheelchair user needs that spave you'll need to fold the pushchair and move though.
