Breaking a journey from Manchester to Devon...

Anyone got any recommendations for places to stop for lunch/to give dd (20 months) a run around between Manchester and Devon? Will probably be on the M5 between Gloucester and Bristol, so anywhere near there. Would like something a bit 'greener' than motorway services.

Slimbridge is lovely... not sure how much is should take you out of your journey but prob about 15 mins.. i think!

better than a motorway caff!

the cafe is fantastic with lovely food and a big view of the pink flamingoes...

you do have to pay but if you only stay for an hour and only into the cafe they will refund your admission fee (sonmething like that! worth phoning up to check)...

have fun!

(thanks for that, Bea, we are also going from Manchester to Devon and needed somewhere to stop with 14 month old daughter - Slimbridge it is!)
