Hello
Have any of you stayed in a cottage in dorset/devon/suffolk/somewhere else they can recommend? We are three - me, dh and dd (nine months) and the dawg. All non smokers!
We've been trawling the internet but not much joy so far. Baby and dog combo a tricky one! We'd like a garden we can eat in in the evenings while dd sleeps and we can put dd's paddling pool in for her in the day. Other than that we're pretty flexible and would love to hear from any of you who've stayed somewhere really lovely!

I loved Porth Farm Cottages in Mawgan Porth (bit of a trek maybe???) DS loved it too and he was 18 months.

They are VERY basic cottages owned by a couple of aging hippies - the lady runs an art class every morning and there's an old wreck of a boat which can be played on and a couple of swings. Indeed, so basic that you need to pay an extra few quid to have a tele in your cottage. Spottlessly clean though.

About 5 minute walk to beach.

The atmosphere is really wonderful there - very family friendly.

Lisa and David Sanders, Porth Farm Cottages, Mawgan Porth, TR8 4BP. I don't think they have a website but I'll have a look.

we stayed in this beautiful little cottage a couple of years ago with our dog (dd was on the way!) It is immaculate, in a very peaceful location. The woman who owns it is fab, really interesting, lives in a big barn thing nearby.

Thanks so much for replying. Both sound great - Oatcake, we're being a bit cowardly on the drive to Cornwall front but love the sound of the cottages for when we're braver... And thanks CountessDracula, cottage looks great - just the sort of thing we're after! thanks again for the tips.

Is it for this summer, Cye?
You can try Lastminute.com under cottages and then last minute availability, or Lategetaway.com

I found a house on the seafront at Whitstable for £300 in August on Lastminute.com.

we had a lovely cottage from this lot - and they were v nice to talk to on the phone and helpful, so might be worth ringing them up.

We found this company very reasonable. We stayed in Cornwall but they also do Devon and Dorset I think.
