Lake District recommendations

This year were looking at doing a long weekend in the lakes. Probably friday to Tuesday. We have a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old and I hate camping so I think we might go for a caravan?

Does anyone have any recommendations? Money is a bit tight so cheaper end of the spectrum please! We are looking at going in June (not school hols)

Hi,
We have stayed with this company a few times and always found their caravans/lodges to be of high quality .
Fallbarrow is right beside Bowness so good if you want to spend the rest of the weekend car free as you are within walking distance of the boats and various attractions in Bowness. Limefitt is lovely if you want a rural location and WHite Cross bay is about a mile from Bowness, has a swimming pool, but is a bit of a busier site.

Most long weekends are Friday - Monday though.
