We are going second week of Sept with 22 month old DTs. What is there to see and do around there? Any advice gratefully received?

No. Whereabouts is it?

harrogatemum · 26/07/2006 10:15

Roseland peninsula? About 12 miles from Truro apparently.

Truro itself is a nice old town - sorry, CITY ( it has a catherdral). There's loads around there to do, lots of nice beaches and 'visitor attractions'. HAve just had a nose on the websire fo rthe cottages - ooooh look swish! Loks beautiful aroudn there.

We've just come back from Truro. We went to a fabulous beach called Chapel Porth, which is near St Agnes on the North Coast. You need to check the tides though, because there's no beach at high tide, but about 2 hours later there is the most incredibly beautiful huge sandy beach, with large sandy pools under the rocks. There is only a small car park as well, so you need to time your arrival carefully.

If you can't get into Chapel Porth, then try Porthtowan beach. Much less busy than Perranporth.

Sorry, we never got as far as the Roseland Penninsula, but I'm told it's beautiful.

Yep, Chapel Porth is supposed to be lovely. We camp in St Agnes and usually go to the beaches near Trevallas, but they aren't exactly easy access - have to clamber over rocks etc and can only drive down in a 'normal' car (very narrow road).
Perranporth town is good for seaside shopping ( bickets, spades, balls, windbreaks) and has some surfy shops too, beach is massive and sandy. St Agnes is more artsy and "upmarket" and beach is much smaller.

Truro is good. St Mawes is nice for a wander, lots of boats and boat trips. We went to the Driftwood Hotel which is on the Roseland Peninsula, it was lovely.
