Shropshire

kids are off to PGL & i thought I may as well have a mini break at the same time - any recommendations on where to stay, hotels or b & B;s.

The Clive at Ludlow is lovely. Ludlow is a wonderful place.

Shropshire is fantastic. We stayed in a barn conversion in Much Wenlock, but visited Ludlow which we loved, so I would second Ludlow (and Much Wenlock ).

Another place worth staying in is Ironbridge as there is so much to see and do. And there are lots of really nice bed and breakfast places to stay in.

Shrewsbury is a beautiful town with great independent shops and nice restaurants. It's lovely to walk around looking at the timber framed buildings and exploring the shuts and passages. You could see the castle or the abbey, go to the theatre severn or the quarry park with river cruises.

Church Stretton is great for walking, the scenery is amazing.
