Norfolk Broads - any hints?

We are going there for the first time ever next week, staying in a "wet boathouse" (eek) on a "staithe" at Ludham. (It's a foreign language!)

Will probably do some boating, and visit beaches & Norwich, and DH & DS2 may try fishing, but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

blimey we are in v north suffolk on coast, but dont understand all that jargon.... north norfolk coast (cromer etc) is lovely. give lowestoft a wide berth. have a lovely time!

Ludham is on the S side of Norfolk, the nearest nice beach seems to be Sea Palling (up from Gt Yarmouth) but we will go up to the N Norfolk beaches too.

(I think a staithe is an inlet and a wet boathouse is one which is built over water - we are staying upstairs luckily )

Ludham is lovely (DD has a class there on a Sat am- Ballroom)

A wet boat house is basically a floating caravan

A staith is a bit of land with boats (& boathouses) moored on it

Visit

Sea Palling - lovely quiet beach, so is Winterton
Stalham - nice market town (quite small)
Lathams at Acle - cheap shop - lovely china - some good bargins
Wroxham - has a nice tea shop, "Roys of Wroxham" a department store in a village
Wroxham Barns - small petting farm + mini theme park (for 3-8's iirc)
Fairhaven Water Gardens - nice quiet walks arround lovely wild gardens
Thrigby Wildlife park (Quite expensive - but I like it)

Oh - the bost house I stayed on was def a floating caravan....

Steam train in Sheringham is worth a visit, rides are quite expensive buit you can view from the platform for free, or a small platform charge. Suffolk Wildlife Park at Kessingland isn't bad, and if you fancy a theme park day could go to Pleasurewood Hills - is a pay once for the day. Worth buying the local paper Eastern Daily Press, or a summer guide, as often have 2 for 1 offers in - flick through first! Hiring a boat tio have a potter on the broads is lovely too. Can you tell I'm originally from round there? Will be in N Norfolk first week in Aug

Jah-H,Holkham beach is stunning and Blakeny point is worth a visit too.Both on the North Norfolk coast.
