Don't get out too much myself these days, but here are some suggestions. Ollo Rosso has a lovely roof top bar and great cocktails , but if you are obviously a hen do they probably won't let you in. The Grassmarket has a lot of pubs and is really lively at the weekend, if you want to go for a group meal Maraichi ( prob spelt wrong) is a Mexican restaurant near by that caters well for groups.
