we are booked to go here in about 3 weeks.

we have been to the longleat one loads and thought we would try this instead but we normally have the 1 bed exec at longleat and have gone for e the 2 bed comfort at elveden as the 1 beds dont have self catering (plus dd can have her own bedroom instead of cot in ours - yay sleep!). has anyone been to elveden and know what the comfort accom is like? dh a bit qworried cos exec at longleat is v v comfy

also, is elveden quite flat? longleat is sooooo hilly.

Just come back from Elevden - its very flat Grin and some lovely bike trails. Don't know about Comfort accomodation as we pushed the boat out & went for 3 bed exec villa Grin

gingernutlover · 15/06/2006 14:37

relieved about the flatness - not the fittest mnetter ever.

Can you not see pics on the website? Must admit the exec villa wasn't quite as plush as expected (we'd never been to CP before) although it did have all the kicthen stuff & sauna & TV in each bedroom which DS loved !

gingernutlover · 15/06/2006 14:40

oh dear Sad sur it will be fine. can see floor plans on website and a few soft focus photos but nothing specific

Don't get me wrong - it was lovely but I think I expected super mega luxury (due to prices!!). It was great & spottlessly clean - couldn't fault it. which area are you in ?

gingernutlover · 15/06/2006 14:51

we haven't specified as we had heard nothing was more thanb 15 minute walk to central area

I went to Elveden in March and stayed in a comfort villa. It was fine, pretty basic but did the job. The greatest bit about the accommodation was watching the birds, ducks and squirrels out of the french doors in a morning. I had never been to Center Parcs before and really enjoyed myself. Next time though, I would take extra pillows and my own duvet (theirs was a bit questionable).

Have a great holiday!

gingernutlover · 15/06/2006 18:42

thanks for the tip showofhands - we have even found this in exec villas stingy one pillow each and hankie for a duvet Smile.

you get a big round jaccuzzi bath in the exec at Elvendon Smile

LotosEater · 15/06/2006 19:23

oops Elevden

LotosEater · 15/06/2006 19:26

and I shall be in it tomorrow night Smile

Whizzz · 15/06/2006 19:48

We didn't have a round jacuzzi bath - just a normal sized one with jets - I was most miffed ! Grin. Sauna was good though
I always think that the relaxing-ness of them is somewhat marred by the 120 decibel noise of the water jets !

Whizzz · 15/06/2006 20:10

Ditto about the horse riding - DS is 5 & he had 15 mins of a basic lesson in the riding school + walk through the woods. I loved it too as I got to lead the pony ! Its a shame though that we both couldn't have ridden together (think you can if kids are over 7)

MAke sure you get a chance to have a meal at La Sapaniere (sp) - we booked a baby sitter (about £5 per hour - she was a trained nurse) and had one of the most amazing meals we've ever had there - it was on a par with meals we've had at The Sanderson Hotel in London - truly fantastic food and amazing service. - have a fabulous time!
