Short break ideas needed please

My DH has a fortnight off work coming up and has mentioned he would like to go somewhere for a few days. We have 3 DC, no car and are in West Yorkshire. Can anyone recommend anywhere not too far away from us that is easy to get to by rail and doesn't cost the earth?
