Walton-on-the-Naze

We're out for a day by the beach sand in every possible crevice and I've got it in my head that we should have traditional fish and chips for tea. I thought they'd be loads of cafes etc here but sadly not. There are two places but they're only take away which we don't really fancy (and which the nice man in the ice cream shop said weren't all that). So, can anyone recommend anywhere in the vicinity of Walton-on-the-Naze? We don't mind driving up to 20 minutes or so. Thanks! Grin

Not Frinton, that's for sure.

The fish and chip shop at Frinton is great!

One of the best I've ever had.

ha! I suspected I had that completely wrong. But it was very controversial to get the planning permission for it, I wasn't sure if that was all done & dusted.

I'm sure I've had F+C at Walton, but can't remember where. All the way out on the Naze, maybe.

A bit late now but if you visit again Yates fish and chip shop in Old Pier St has seating and does decent food too.
