Large holiday home help

Jellybaby101 · 27/07/2013 20:25

Hi, we want to go away with two other families and are looking for a large holiday home anywhere in the uk. It must sleep 13 (7 kids, 6 adults) in 7 bedrooms. The ones I've found are freakishly expensive, even when divided between us! We need to go in half term or summer hols. So any recommendations happily received!!

have a look at groupaccommodation.com and bigholidayhouse.com both websites specialise in big holiday houses. we have used a number of them in the past and been please with them. also what about a group of houses or cottages. we stay here it has a pool and animals and is near the sea. whats your budget like I will see if I can go back over some we have stayed in. where would be ideal?

Thanks for your help! We have a budget of £1k/family but preferably less if poss (!) and we really don't mind where we go... We all live in Berkshire so can go anywhere!

a youth hostel maybe?

Try here We stayed here for two years running. It is in a fab bit of the country with access eg, to Gullivers in Matlock for young ones and Alton Towers if you have big ones (we used to split the group).

Am not sure they do it now but when we went they used to let us hire it for the number of days we needed rather than making us take it for a whole week (we only ever wanted around 4 nights) which made it much more cost effective for our group.

We stayed in this place in dorset on a similar trip. The house was amazing and close to lots of national trust places, and monkey world and a steam railway!

Weston manor on the IOW is huge and sleeps loads. Plus it's right near Colwell bay which is one of my favourite beaches in the world

How about this one in Exmoor National Park, 8/9 bedrooms, in its own grounds on the edge of a lovely village with walks from the door? www.the-cleeve.co.uk
