Practical advice: Easyjet LON - GLA

Looking for advice on the practical front. Haven't done a shorthaul flight with a little one before. We won't have any checked in baggage. Just hand luggage and our buggy.

How long before the flight would you advise getting to the airport? They say the gate closes half an hour before boarding.

Thanks.

About 1/5 hrs ... Go get through security go via the family lane if its gatwick and wander to gate.

Depends how busy you think security will be. Also how long it takes to wake to gate whatever which can be a fair distance from security.
Bearing in mind I recently failed at step 1) of finding the damn offsite car park in Edinburgh in time to even get transferred before gate closure, next time I'll be going back to the 2 hours before flight timing I normally choose (when I have luggage to checkin)

Double check that you will get your buggy at the plane when you get to Glasgow. It's a very long walk carrying a little one and a nightmare if you have to hold him/her if security is busy.

Also check the rules with Easyjet about your buggy. It's been a long time since ds2 was in one but I had one (can't remember, think Quinny) which was small enough to count as hand luggage but that was it. DH had to have nappies, wipes and my stuff in his bag as we were only allowed one piece each and the buggy was mine.

Thanks - we fly from Stansted at 8:10 in the morning, so will aim to be there 1.5hrs before, plus the 15mins I imagine it will take to get from the car park to the terminal. Eeek...this looks like a very early start.

No hand baggage for the little one, but one collapsible buggy plus another item if needed.
Will do my usual trick of stuffing any extra bits into my buggy's travel bag!

We fly Stansted to belfast often with our 2 year old (have done since he was a baby). I'd factor in 30 mins to get from car park in case you've just missed a bus.
Never had queues at security at Stansted but may be different in peak summer season. Belfast security can be a nightmare though (only a few lanes) so Glasgow may be similar so factor in extra time for that on the return.
When the gate comes up on the screen don't dither, get there quick! There will already be loads of people there who do it daily/weekly so will go to the gate before it's announced. Don't forget to step forward for family boarding.

I flew stanstead to Edinburgh for a flight between 8-9am & the queues for security were hellish. Was with my then 2year old. I find it easy to keep kids entertained in airports, especially if in a buggy, so I'd go early.

Agree with pp about finding out if they'll give you your buggy back. They didn't when I landed at stanstead & it was miles to walk!
